The gown is made from a fine faille fabric, a light-weight
material that provides maximum comfort. The gown's color is
authentic Duke University Blue. It features a zipper closure
allowing the gown to be worn open or closed. The Duke
University Shield is embroidered on
each front panel. The velvet panels and bars are black, however, you can purchase a gown
with velvet panels and bars in the official color representing
your earned degree.
The velvet tam is four-pointed with a ten inch
square top and a gold metallic bullion tassel. The
hood has a satin lining of Duke Blue
with a white chevron.
